Importance of Volunteers and Interns.
As a platform to help communities reach out to one another, we rely on the passion and dedication of our volunteers to help us reach our goals. The majority of our operations are entirely engineered and executed by volunteers/interns. No matter how small or large their role, volunteers are the most vital component of KCVA.
What to expect as a Volunteer or Intern.

Because volunteers are so critical to KISORO COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS ASSOCIATION, often times they play a more active role and have a greater influence than they would at other NGO's. KCVA strives to take advantage of the unique skills and interests of its volunteers to make their experience with our organization more meaningful. In pairing volunteers/ interns with projects they are passionate about, we also believe that our projects are more successful in impacting communities in need.
Our volunteers and interns come from all over the world and wear many different hats. Some work primarily on strengthening KCVA infrastructure as an organisation, researching and developing future projects, fundraising, and other 'organizational' projects.Other volunteers and interns travel to kisoro to get involved and participate directly in our humanity initiative.
Our Volunteering Programs prices $35 per day, contact us today for more information.

Programs we host
KEEP HOPE ALIVE BOOKS PROGRAM
This project is to enable each needy child in schools, which are affiliated with our association to access school fees, uniforms, pens and books. Most of the children are orphans. You can volunteer on this project by teaching in one of the schools/ fundraising for this project OR by Sponsoring a child to acquire the above.

Lands department
Land is an essential factor for all development projects. In all cases, land use choices have to be made. It often that, wrong planning decision and choices are made and this entirely affects the productivity of this important asset. Volunteers work or liaise with lands departments to provide new ideas on land tenure systems, ownership and their relationship to sustainable development.

Food and agriculture department
This will include working with food security related programmes or research programmes involved in improving production systems and techniques, traditional food crops, food preservation and storage methods plus studies concerning factors of production such as land, capital and labour.

Health Related activities
The lack of medical staff in the District is so evident and appealing. The Volunteers/interns help to reduce the number/ratio of patients per medical staff. They also help to improve the quality of medical services through improved techniques from their countries, which they also inculcate among the medical staff. Community/home based care for people living with HIV/AIDS and prevention and control campaigns and, health awareness

Community Development works
Meaningful sustainable development must directly benefit the people. All development programmes and projects are meant to improve peopleÂ’s sensitization, community economic development through micro finance institutions, gender issues and working with local governments to help improve on the skills of the staff which improve on the method of delivering services to the people.
